Best of 2012

January 2, 2013 in Engagements

Happy 2013 my fine people! This year marks my 5th year anniversary since I decided to throw caution to the wind and follow what my heart had been telling me. It is very strange thinking back to the person who I was five years ago; having gone through a very traumatic time personally I felt I had nothing to lose, as I was truly at rock bottom. I dreamed of gracing the wedding magazines, I dreamed of becoming a brand name, I dreamed of shooting those fine lavish weddings you only see in style magazines. I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude, my hard work, my diligence to the finer points have not be in vain. I know I mention it time and time again but this isn’t what makes me so proud. I am proud to have met THE most amazing people, heard the most amazing love stories, I am proud to the fact that I am now the adopted daughter/ sister of many a client families, and its genuine too. The invites I receive for dinners, birthdays, the artifacts notes and cards I receive in the post is truly overwhelming, and my simple humble words of thank you is all I can offer. 2012 was a year of growth; emotionally, mentally, photographically. I had the opportunity to travel this year, on business and leisure. Having shot just shy of 40 weddings the year prior, I had time to reflect, to evaluate and take in the magnitude how far I have come. There is a meme floating around the internet at the moment with the words YOLO (You Only Live Once) With those words echoing in my ears; it has been adopted as my new years resolution!

I don't believe in YOLO as, you've proved with this journey, you can live again even after rock bottom. 'Mabrook' and happy new year! :)

Reema + Ravi:- Pre Wedding Shoot

October 19, 2012 in E-Session

From the first moment I met Reema and Ravi a year prior to their wedding my instincts told me that this would be a fabulous couple to work with. As per my previous post; their charm and character is so infectious which translated so well on camera. Having gauged what a fun loving this couple were I proposed a themed idea for their pre wedding session; vintage/ fashion type/ stylised shoot against the back drop of an airplane field. I asked my good friend and industry pal Arman Milind to create Reema’s retro hair and make up, and I took to ebay finding the right props for the shoot.

We then went on to create more of a natural relaxed shoot in a park, Reema and Ravi also found time to come to my neck of the woods in picturesque Harrogate to create some atmospheric evening images.
